Here are three things we learned from Saturday night’s Big Ten clash between two top ten teams in Ohio State and Nebraska.

On Saturday night, No. 6 Ohio State and No. 10 Nebraska played in a battle of two top ten teams. The No. 10 Nebraska Cornhuskers started off slow as they faced a 7-0 deficit to start the game. From there, Ohio State never looked back despite an early fight by the Cornhuskers. After losing Tommy Armstrong to injury, the game got out of hand, and Ohio State reverted back to their dominant ways winning 62-3.

This game was a shellacking by Ohio State as the offense was in cruise control for most of the night. The Ohio State defense continued their dominant ways holding Nebraska to a meager three points. The game started off in favor of Ohio State as Damon Webb took an interception to the house on the opening drive of the game. For the first time in weeks, Ohio State started off fast, and the rest was history.

The final score would see Ohio State defeat Nebraska 62-3. Here are three things that were learned during the Big Ten showdown.

Next: Best college quarterback born in every state

1. The real J.T. Barrett is back.

Buckeye fans have to be inspired by the play of J.T. Barrett. Over the past few weeks, Barrett hasn’t looked like his usual self. Against Nebraska, he played his best football since the Buckeyes defeated Oklahoma on the road. Barrett toyed with the Cornhusker defense as he tossed four touchdowns, which included a jump pass that resembled Urban Meyer’s days with Tim Tebow. Whether if it was hitting receivers or making key runs, Barrett kept the Nebraska defense on their heels. While there were times he was off with some throws, he made up for it with a bevy of big plays.

2. Curtis Samuel is Heisman worthy.

The Curtis Samuel show was on full display in Columbus. At times, Samuel looked as if he was on a video game as a testament to how dominant he was. The H-Back hailing from Brooklyn, New York finished the game with 183 total yards and two touchdowns, which included a 75-yard touchdown reception. Samuel may not be on the radar to receive any consideration for the Heisman Trophy, but being the only player in FBS with over 600 yards rushing and receiving should allow him to enter the conversation to make a trip to New York City.

3. No College Football Playoffs for Nebraska.

With two consecutive losses, the Cornhuskers can kiss their College Football Playoff hopes goodbye. Despite losing two games to arguably two of the best teams in the country in Ohio State and Wisconsin, head coach Mike Riley has the program headed in the right direction, but sadly, the Cornhuskers will have to watch the CFP from home.
