The San Francisco 49ers will host the New Orleans Saints on Sunday afternoon. Here are all the highlights, the game recap, and the final score.

The awful San Francisco 49ers (1-6) will host the surprisingly decent New Orleans Saints (3-4) for a 4:05 PM ET kickoff at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on Sunday, November 6th. FOX will have the late afternoon telecast.

The 49ers are coming off a bye, but have lost six straight games in their disaster of a football season. With the Chicago Bears beating the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football in Week 8, the 49ers are now considered the worst team in the NFC. Only the winless Cleveland Browns in the AFC have a worst record in the NFL this season.

New Orleans has a great opportunity to get back to .500 at 4-4 with a big road win over the 49ers in Santa Clara. A win over San Francisco would have the Saints 1.5 games back of the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC South race. New Orleans isn’t perfect, but the Saints are still very much in the NFC Playoffs mix this season.

This could be either a high-scoring shootout in Levi’s Stadium or a blowout in the Saints’ favor on Sunday. New Orleans will get points with Drew Brees at quarterback. How San Francisco will play on Sunday is largely determined by controversial starting quarterback Colin Kaepernick. The Saints don’t have a great defense. Maybe Kaepernick uses his dual-threat ability to exploit the underwhelming Saints secondary to keep it interesting?

Three Stars

1. Drew Brees: Brees is going to have a field day against the 49ers. Look for him to complete 64% of his passes for 335 yards, three touchdowns, and no turnovers.

2. Brandin Cooks: Cooks could be Brees’ favorite receiving target in this one. Look for Cooks to have eight catches for 95 yards and a touchdown versus the lowly 49ers on Sunday afternoon.

3. Colin Kaepernick: This might end up being the best game of Kaepernick’s season. The Saints secondary has many holes in it. Look for Kaepernick to complete 56% of his passes for 225 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
