These are the things we learned from the New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

The New Orleans Saints had no issue scoring points against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. The game was a blowout from the beginning and the 49ers could not stop the Saints’ offense no matter what they did on defense.

While the 49ers’ defense struggled, Colin Kaepernick had a great day at the quarterback spot and gave his team every opportunity to try and stay in the game. The Saints now have evened up their record and will look to try and march toward a playoff spot. Here are three things learned from their win over the 49ers.

3. Colin Kaepernick can still be a good quarterback

The 49ers are a bad football team, but Colin Kaepernick has shown that he can still be a good quarterback in this league. On Sunday, Kaepernick had a really good day at the quarterback spot. Despite an interception, he threw for two touchdowns and had 398 yards through the air. He should keep the job for the rest of the season at least.

2. The Saints can run the ball as well as they pass

When people think of the New Orleans Saints, they think of Drew Brees and his ability to pass for plenty of yards each game. While Brees had another great day, the running back duo of Mark Ingram and Tim Hightower combined for two touchdowns and 245 yards. This team can run the ball and it makes their offense even more lethal.

1. New Orleans has a great shot at a Wild Card spot

At 4-4, the New Orleans Saints are right there in the race for the Wild Card. This is going to come down to the final week of the season, as the NFC has not been good at all outside of one team. If the Saints can win five of their last eight, they will have a shot.
