29. team. 57. Bears fans had the bye week come at a perfect time with the Chicago Cubs winning their first World Series in 108 years. Head coach John Fox needed a distraction while he tries to resuscitate his career and figure out the Bears quarterback situation. Now with the attention slowly turning back to the Bears, Fox needs his team to play hard out of the gate next week. They can not be sluggish after a week of rest, or else the seat gets hotter for Fox and his staff. Everyone knows what Jay Cutler is, but he needs to string together some more consistent games if he wants a job next season. <p>Next Week: After the bye week, the Bears travel down to Tampa Bay for some sun and an afternoon game against the Buccaneers. After beating up on the Vikings on Monday Night Football, Chicago is puffing its chest out. It can’t let Jameis Winston take advantage of that and run all over them.</p> <p>Playoff hopes: Da Bears have essentially been eliminated from the playoffs thanks to a 2-6 record. The NFC North is proving to be more competitive than believed with the Vikings sinking and the Lions holding their own. Drafting within the top three is Chicago’s focus going forward.</p>. 2-6.
