The Weeknd, The Voice, and Lost join the ranks of Fandom 250
By Dan Selcke
Rappers, classic TV shows, and reality juggernauts dominate the latest list of nominees for FanSided’s Fandom 250.
This month, FanSided is revealing its picks for the top 250 fanbases in the world. The list includes sports teams. It includes TV shows, and singers, and actors, and desserts, and more. We’re rolling it out in groups of 10 at a time, and revealing the complete rankings in December. Today, our group includes giants of television and the music scene.
Between the four of them, Future, Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, and the Weeknd have a mountain of awards and legions of fans. They’re part of a new wave of young musicians who’re redefining the hip hop and R&B scenes, and they all have the talent to back up their fame.
Over on TV, we’ve got reality touchstones like The Voice and Project Runway together with beloved scripted shows like Lost. The likes of Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelor are watched by millions upon millions of people each week. In the process, they’ve become cultural touchstones, shows that have redefined what people watch on TV. Meanwhile, Gilmore Girls has become a modern cult classic, so much so that Netflix is reviving it nine years after it went off the air.
