The Seattle Seahawks need some help on the offensive line, more specifically, at the tackle position. Quarterback Russell Wilson always appears to be running for his life, and has been dealing with nagging injuries this season. Despite Wilson missing time, the Seahawks are once again in line to reach the playoffs, which means they will most likely be drafting late in round one.
If the team is in the market for an offensive tackle, they should look towards the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Mike McGlinchey is the second-best tackle in this draft, and is a dominating force for the Irish. He is strong enough to move defenders with one arm, and has the ability to play both sides of the line. The Seahawks need someone to protect Wilson’s blindside, and McGlinchey has been doing that his entire collegiate career.
The Fighting Irish are having a very bad season, but McGlinchey has been consistent throughout. Named as one of head coach Brian Kelly’s captains, McGlinchey is a leader for Notre Dame, and is often the go-to guy for interviews about the status of the team. He would be a perfect fit for the culture in Seattle, because he has the right personality, and he has the work ethic that Seahawks fans come to expect.
