Wake Forest (+35) over Louisville

Louisville has a 96.6 percent chance to win this game (according to ESPN’s Football Power Index) and they should cruise to victory. At the same time, the number is quite high and unreasonably so. Wake Forest is very competent defensively and, for good measure, the Demon Deacons have not even allowed 35 points to a single opponent all season. In contrast, this Louisville offense is easily the best that they will face, but I trust Wake’s defense to keep things manageable, and if they can get to double-digits on offense, this is a pick I love.

Iowa (+21.5) over Michigan

I have enjoyed mixed success when it comes to picking Michigan games this season, but we’re back at it. The Wolverines are much better than the Hawkeyes, but I was utterly stunned by this number. Keep in mind that this is a road game for Michigan at night in an extremely hostile environment, and Iowa has every incentive to play keep-away with a wildly conservative, ball-control game plan to help neutralize the Wolverines offensively. It would be a shock to everyone if Michigan lost this game, but when the number climbed about 21, it became an auto-pick for me.
