ESPN College Pick Em Picks Week 11

Where has the college football season gone? Here we are at week 11 of ESPN College Pick Em already! There are only four weeks left, so we need to make a move right now!

More from College Football Odds

Last week I tallied 38 points. I only missed three games overall, but two of them were worth a combined 13 points. That put me a little farther behind in he Fantasy CPR Reader’s group.

I still sit in fifth place. First is an incredible 49 points ahead, a lead that seems insurmountable. However, I did pull within 23 points of third place. I still have a shot at this!

This week looks easier than last week. I pick all of the teams against the spread, so the lesser known teams like Troy and Appalachian State could give me a shot to move up.

Here are the ESPN College Pick Em picks for week 11. They are in order from least confidence (1) to most (10) for those of you that play the confidence version of the game like I do.

(1) Tulsa over Navy:

The Tulsa offense has looked outstanding lately. They have scored 51.3 points per game over the last three games, and have given up no more than 30 in that span. That is a huge achievement for Tulsa. If Navy falls behind, they don’t have the firepower to keep up. I see that happening here.

(2) Appalachian State over Troy:

This will decide the Sun Belt conference this year. Troy is a tough team. If you remember back to September, they almost ousted Clemson at Clemson. That is still the only loss for the Trojans. Appalachian State’s losses are both to ranked teams as well in Tennessee and Miami. I trust the Mountaineer offense just a little more.

(3) Tennessee over Kentucky:

These teams don’t like each other very much, and this is a year where The Wildcats may actually be good enough to oust the Vols. That is a tall order on the road though. Mark Stoops has saved his job again for now after a rough start. I just don’t see them pulling this out.

(4) West Virginia over Texas:

The Longhorns have been tough at home, so this is a little higher than most will put it. The Big 12(10) is full over average teams this year. I still don’t really trust the Texas defense, but the Longhorns have to be the early favorite to win the Big 12(10) next year. D’Onta Foreman gouged Baylor last week, and Shane Beuchele gets better by the game. I have to think Texas wins at home.

(5) Minnesota over Nebraska:

I will tell you this right now. If Tommy Armstrong is out, I’m moving this to my number ten game. Ryker Fife is awful. He reminds me of a less talented Christian Hackenburg. This is the same Ryker Fife that lost to a miserable Purdue team last year. Even if Armstrong plays, I like the Gophers here. They are very good at stopping the run, and no one is afraid of Armstrong’s passing skills.

(6) Washington over USC:

This one worries me some. USC is much better than they were early on, but I just don’t see the Huskies dropping their biggest game in two decades at home. I don’t expect Washington to run the table, but I don’t think they drop this one.

(7) LSU over Arkansas:

The Hogs were impressive against Florida, but stopping Leonard Fournette is not as easy as Alabama made it look. The Tigers have looked like a different team since the dismissal of Les Miles. There is no way they would have hung with Alabama before.

(8) Washington State over California:

The Cal defense is terrible. The Washington State offense is one of the most potent in the country. Mike Leach still runs a modified version of a run-and-shoot, but he actually runs the ball more in this system. You know what? It has worked very well. An couple of early season hiccups have kept this from being a truly special season, but the Cougars are close. Cal won’t be.

(9) Oklahoma over Baylor:

I promise this isn’t homerism. Baylor got steamrolled by an average TCU team last weekend. It was so bad that Baylor RB Shock Linwood got in an altercation with a coach on the sideline during the game. That has resulted in Linwood being suspended for this game. Baylor will get their points because the Oklahoma defense is still mostly awful, but the Bears are even worse. Oh, and did I mention that Samaje Perine is back?

(10) Michigan over Iowa:

If you are only paying attention to the names, it sounds good. However, the products on the field tell a different story. I could spin this a thousand different ways, and there isn’t a single one that has Iowa winning. That’s how big the talent gap is between the players and coaches in this one. Michigan wins big, even in Kinnick Stadium.
