10. Mark Trumbo, RF/DH

As expected, Mark Trumbo proved to be the perfect match for the homer-centric offense of the Baltimore Orioles and the small ballparks of the AL East. The slugger cranked 47 Trumbombs in 2016 to lead the majors. He also made his second All-Star team and won the Comeback Player of the Year award.

Going forward, Trumbo profiles as a full-time DH. His defense in right field for the Orioles left much to be desired, and truthfully, he would have not seen a single inning there if the team’s plan to sign Dexter Fowler had not fallen apart at the last second. Trumbo’s 2016 was interesting as he slashed a miserable .173/.223/.385 against left-handers after hitting them better than right-handers his entire career. Trumbo also experienced his typical second-half swoon, seeing his OPS drop by over 150 points after the All-Star break.

Prediction — Houston Astros, four years, $60 million
