7. Justin Turner, 3B
Turner has been one of the most surprising stories of the past three seasons. He did not establish himself as a full-time big leaguer until 2011 at the age of 26. After mostly part-time duty with the Mets, he was non-tendered after the 2013 season. Turner landed with the Dodgers and has quietly slashed .296/.394/.492 over the past three years with 50 home runs. He has also been a monster in the postseason, hitting .357 in 18 games.
In 2016, Turner’s power stroke improved, allowing him to hit 27 home runs. His previous career-best had been 16. He also played quality defense at the hot corner. Turner is the only solid option available at third base in this free-agent class, and the Dodgers do not have any in-house options ready to replace him.
