This was supposed to be the bounce-back year for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. Jordy Nelson is back after tearing his ACL before the 2015 season, and there was enough talent on this team for them to make another run at a Super Bowl.
Instead, the Packers are now 4-4 and coming off of a massively disappointing loss to the Indianapolis Colts. The backfield and secondary are completely decimated, and Rodgers is struggling to make enough plays to win once again.
Game management is starting to become a real issue for this team. Head coach Mike McCarthy is supposed to be an offensive-minded genius, but his schemes have led to receivers struggling to get open and forced Rodgers to put the team on his back.
The NFC North is still wide open, but the Packers have failed to capitalize on the mistakes of the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions. This week, the Packers take on a struggling Tennessee Titans game, but the fans don’t feel nearly as confident about this game as they did heading into the year.
If the Packers can’t get a win this week, the team’s fans are going to be calling for McCarthy’s job, and they just might have their wish granted at the end of the year.
