Broncos at Saints: Highlights, score and recap
By John Buhler
The Denver Broncos find a way to win in the Big Easy by beating the New Orleans Saints, 25-23 on Sunday. Denver improves to 7-3, while the Saints fall to 4-5 on the year.
The Denver Broncos were able to shock the New Orleans Saints on Sunday in Week 10, 25-23. New Orleans tied the game up at 23 points on a Drew Brees pass to wide receiver Brandin Cooks. Denver didn’t give up on the ensuing PAT, as it was blocked by Justin Simmons and Will Parks returned it for two points to give the Broncos an improbable victory.
That is twice that the Saints have lost at home in soul-crushing fashion to an AFC West team. The Oakland Raiders decided to go for two to beat the Saints in Week 1, 35-34. To lose on a blocked extra point has to make Who Dat Nation sick to their stomaches.
The Denver defense did a fine job containing the all-out aerial assault of the Saints’ vertical passing offense. Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian did enough to keep the Broncos in this one. At the end of the day, it was the Broncos and special teams unit that won this this ball game.
Denver gets its seventh win of the season and looks very much the part of an AFC Playoff team. New Orleans catches a break in that the Atlanta Falcons also lost on Sunday to the Philadelphia Eagles. However, the Saints are now 4-5 with their NFC Playoff hopes slowly fading away.
Three Stars

- T.J. Ward: Ward shined on the Broncos defense on Sunday. He had six tackles, three solo, and a fumble recovery.
- Drew Brees: Outside of the interceptions, Brees gave the Saints a chance to win this game. He completed 21 of 29 passes for 303 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. He also rushed the ball twice for nine yards.
