4. Week 11 validated an expanded playoff

While the College Football Playoff has been a step in the right direction for the sport, it still doesn’t come without it’s controversy. With only four teams getting in, there’s arguments to be made that other teams should be getting in.

Sometimes it’s obvious which four teams should be in and then there’s years where complete chaos takes over in college football. Saturday brought the chaos and the playoff committee a headache that they are going to have to deal with.

With three teams in the top four losing, they are now going to have to decide which teams with losses are worthy of being in the select group. It also means that there is a real chance a two-loss team might get in if any of these teams lose any more games.

This isn’t going to be easy for the playoff and it makes an eight-team playoff seem even more validated now. There’s going to be a few teams left out that probably could have made it in. That’s why making it eight teams would fix this problem.
