1. USC is the best team in the country, not named Alabama

When the USC Trojans fell to 1-3, it looked like they were in for another long season and might have made some wrong decisions. Instead, Sam Darnold has stepped in at quarterback and has turned USC right back into a powerhouse.

They firmly cemented themselves in the Pac-12 South race with a huge win over Washington on the road. It’s the type of win that really that causes a program to reach another level and USC is on their way back to prominence.

Outside of Alabama, there isn’t a team that is playing better right now. They have an offensive line that is vicious, a fantastic running game and a defense that didn’t allow a potent Washington offense to get the play.

It’s hard to imagine just how far this team has come, but they’re finally figuring things out. If they can carry this over to next year, then there’s a real chance they could be a playoff contender and maybe even more.
