LOS ANGELES, CA - NOVEMBER 11: Lonzo Ball

Live stream and how to watch Northridge (1-0) at #16  UCLA (1-0) on television and online on Sunday, November 13.

Both Northridge and #16 UCLA hit huge marks in their home openers on Friday with Northridge beating Pomona-Pitzer 96-72 while UCLA brought down Pacific 119-80. These two high scoring teams come together on Sunday night and fans can expect to see another scoring blitz on both sides.

UCLA’s freshman guard Lonzo Ball had a banner night against Pacific, narrowly missing a triple-double with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists with only one turnover. Teammate T.J. Leaf, the freshman wing, added 22 points and a game-high 15 rebounds. Senior guard Bryce Alford added 30 points to that barn burner against Pacific that was the highest scoring game for the Bruins since their 120-91 win against Cal State Fullerton on December 13, 2007. Not only was the score NBA-worthy, but the Bruins’ 18 treys and 29 assists set team records in an impressive start to the season. These numbers prove that this young UCLA team is here to make an impact this season and in seasons to come.

Northridge has a fresh and young team that features eight transfers from other D-1 programs, giving the team lots of playing experience that will help them to stay competitive against teams like UCLA. Eight of those transfers made their debut on Friday and showed lots of promise, including Johnson Theus, son of head coach Reggie Theus. Kendall Smith had 17 points against Pomona-Pitzer; the junior looks to be a leader for the Matadors this season along with fellow upperclassman Darin Johnson, who had 20 points in the season opener.
