The Minnesota Vikings will head to the nation’s capital on Sunday for an NFC showdown against the Washington Redskins. Both teams are looking to get a win after disappointing performances in Week 9.

Kirk Cousins and the Washington Redskins will welcome the Minnesota Vikings to FedEx Field on Sunday in a matchup of two teams fighting to stay alive in the playoff race. Both teams are coming off huge disappointments this past weekend, and are looking to get back to their winning ways in Week 10. The game will feature two of the best young wide receivers in the NFL, as Jamison Crowder and Stefon Diggs will face each other.

Minnesota enters Sunday with a three game losing streak. Their offense has sputtered thanks to various injuries to their offensive line. Quarterback Sam Bradford has been efficient, but not good enough to win without protection. Without Adrian Peterson, their running game has been one of the worst in the NFL. Diggs has 546 receiving yards with two touchdowns on the season. He will have to be a huge factor today if the Vikings want to win.

Meanwhile, in the nation’s capital, Crowder leads an impressive receiving core, as the Redskins have three players with at least 400 receiving yards. Quarterback Kirk Cousins’ favorite target is Jordan Reed, who leads the team with 42 receptions. Washington is coming off a tie in London, as they couldn’t score in overtime against the Cincinnati Bengals. However, they are 3-1-1 over their last five games. They look to put some pressure on the New York Giants with a win today, as they would briefly be ahead of them in the standings.

Expect a low scoring game on Sunday, as both defenses have shown the ability to stop the ball consistently. The game will come down to its two quarterbacks. Whichever quarterback can overcome the other team’s defense the best will win this game.

Highlights

Highlights will be posted throughout the game.

Three Stars Prediction

1. Kirk Cousins

Cousins is coming off an impressive performance against the Bengals. He hasn’t repeated his numbers from last season, but he has bounced back quite nicely from a rough start earlier this season. Expect him to be the most productive offensive player on the field.

2. Stefon Diggs

A huge matchup today should be Diggs going against the Redskins secondary. It remains to be seen exactly who will be covering him, but whoever covers him is in for a very long day. If the Vikings want to win, they’ve got to get him more involved. Look for them to do that today against a relatively unimpressive Redskins secondary.

3. Jordan Reed

The Vikings have struggled to stop tight ends this season. That’s great news from Jordan Reed and Vernon Davis of the Redskins. Look for Cousins to go to his favorite big targets early and often in this one.

Odds

The Washington Redskins are 1.5 point favorites at home this Sunday, and are playing very good football lately. Don’t be surprised if the Vikings pull off the upset though. The over under is set at 42 points. Go with the under in this one.

Next Week

The Redskins will host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football next week. Minnesota will return home to square off against the Arizona Cardinals.
