NBA Power Rankings: Clippers are too good to ignore

(2-7). Previous: . Miami Heat. 26. team. 110. Dwyane Wade returned to Dade County on Thursday and it was one of the more memorable moments of the early season. What hasn’t been memorable is the play of the Miami Heat. It’s hit a point where the team is actively seeking out Dion Waiters to get them a shot in bad possessions. Hassan Whiteside still can’t seem to put together a full-effort game even though he’s been handsomely paid by Pat Riley and the Heat this offseason. Goran Dragic has come back to life now that Wade is no longer around to kidnap the offense away from him. But with Whiteside, Dragic and a rapidly developing Justise Winslow as your top players it’s going to be a long year. A high-lottery pick will make the heartache for D-Wade lessen slightly for the Heat fans and franchise. Pat Riley is either crying over spilled milk in his office or grinning widely as he sees the beginning of his plans to retool and rebuild the Heat slowly, but surely start to take shape with Wade gone. Erik Spoelstra is just awesome at coaching and it will be very intriguing to see what he can do to keep Miami competitive throughout the duration of this season.
