NFL Mock Draft: Deshaun Watson falling
By Brad Weiss
Some believe the Indianapolis Colts will look to add a running back in round one of the 2017 NFL Draft, but we like them to go linebacker with their first round selection. Alabama’s Reuben Foster is an NFL-ready linebacker who hits about as hard as anybody playing college football nowadays. The Colts need help at the position, and Foster is made to play at the next level.
The bottom line is the Colts are getting old on the defensive side of the ball, and bringing in a player of Foster’s ability is going to make them better on day one. He plays with the kind of passion that has been lacking for the Colts on defense, and his blue-collar work ethic would not be lost on the people of Indianapolis. He has been a dominating force on an Alabama defense that is likely to repeat as National Champions this season.
Foster currently leads the Crimson Tide in tackles, and it is because of kids like him that Alabama wins every year. Not only does he do a nice job in the run game, but he also is very good at dropping back in coverage, which will be needed in the AFC South. Indy’s offense is in good hands with Andrew Luck at quarterback, and now the team needs to go out and bolster the other side of the ball.
