CB. Washington. Sidney Jones. 17. player. 35.

With their second pick of the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, we like the Tennessee Titans to bolster their defense. More specifically, we think they need some help in the secondary, and Washington’s Sidney Jones is just what the doctor ordered. He is an unbelievable talent at the cornerback position, and should hear his name called during the first round.

The Titans have a bunch of weapons on offense, and if they go wide receiver like we think they will with their first pick, they should fill their needs on defense with the second. Jones is the kind of cornerback who can shut down an entire side of the field, and has soft hands for someone who plays the position. He has incredible closing speed, and can catch up to recievers even if he makes a mistake in coverage.

The bottom line is the AFC South has some talented receivers, and the Titans are never going to make the next step if they do not fix their problems in the secondary. Aside from the receiver talent, the division also includes a passer named Andrew Luck, who has been known to shred defenses from time to time. Jones would team with Jason McCourty to form one of the better 1-2 cornerback punches in the division, and possibly the AFC.
