Find out how to watch San Diego (0-2) at UCLA (2-0) on television and online on Thursday, November 17.
The #16 UCLA Bruins get a visit from the University of San Diego Toreros in the friendly confines of Pauley Pavilion on Thursday. UCLA is currently sitting atop a perfect record on the season after wins against Cal State Northridge and University of the Pacific. The Toreros are 0-2 with losses to cross-town rivals San Diego State Aztecs and visiting Samford. The last time the Toreros visited Pauley Pavilion was December 7, 2014, when they suffered a 75-68 loss to the Bruins.
UCLA’s young team has been dominant in its first two games, garnering a lot of attention around the Pac-12. Senior guards Bryce Alford and Isaac Hamilton have averaged 25 and 19.5 points per game respectively. Seven Bruins finished with double figures during the Northridge game with Alford netting 30 points. Freshman guard Lonzo Ball has been averaging 16 points per game, and he almost notched a triple double against Pacific with 19 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds.
San Diego fell in the home opener to Samford with an 83-65 loss. Like the Bruins, the Toreros are a young team this season with plenty of talent across the bench. USD head coach Lamont Smith is in his second year, and he’s working to bring this team into the top half of the West Coast Conference standings. Among the standouts so far are freshman guard Nassir Barrino, who has been in double digits in both games, while sophomore guard Olin Carter III has led the team in scoring. Junior Cameron Neubauer, the veteran forward, had nine points and seven rebounds against Samford.

This marks the fifth meeting between the Toreros and the Bruins. UCLA owns the better side of the 3-1 record; San Diego’s sole win comes during their 2002-2003 campaign back when former Toreros head coach and UCLA basketball alum Brad Holland led the team to an 86-81 overtime win.
