It’s a battle of the Bulldogs on Friday with the Bryant Bulldogs visiting the #14 Gonzaga Bulldogs in Spokane on November 18. This is the second meeting between Bryant and Gonzaga, with Gonzaga taking the first meeting in a 100-76 win in November 2013. Redshirt senior Przemek Karnowski had 10 points in 12 minutes of play in that game, and now he’s back after recovering from his injury and he has a chance to score more points in this second matchup.
Gonzaga is on fire with two big wins to start the season. The first win came in the season opener against Utah Valley where the Bulldogs claimed an impressive 92-69 victory, and they followed that with a 69-48 win against visiting San Diego State. That loss represents the biggest margin of defeat for the Aztecs in the last nine seasons. Gonzaga is riding high on the debut of two solid freshmen who are making an immediate impact on the team; Zach Collins and Killian Tillie combined for an average 20.5 points and 15.5 rebounds in the first two games.
The Bryant Bulldogs have represented the Northeast Conference in the postseason in four of the last five years. Reigning Northeastern Conference Rookie of the Year Marcel Pettway and All-NEC Rookie Team member Nisre Zouzoua are leading a young team with lots of talent. Their 88-61 win over Salve Regina saw five players in double digit scoring.
