On the second play from scrimmage, Michigan State Spartans running back L.J. Scott pulls off a 64-yard touchdown reception on the rival No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes.
The Michigan State Spartans are not going to a holiday season bowl this year at 3-7 on the season. However, they have a huge opportunity to play spoiler against a huge Big Ten East rival in the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday afternoon.
On the Spartans’ second play from scrimmage, Michigan State running back L.J. Scott would catch a Tyler O’Connor pass out of the backfield to take it to the house on the Buckeyes for a 64-yard touchdown reception.

O’Connor would fake the pass to the right before hitting Scott in the Michigan State backfield. Scott would get a tremendous block near the sidelines by the first-down marker before sprinting all the way to find pay dirt in the Buckeyes’ end zone.
Ohio State needs to beat both Michigan schools to have a shot at winning the Big Ten East division title. Keep in mind that the Penn State Nittany Lions hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Buckeyes in Big Ten play. Should Penn State win out, the Nittany Lions will win the Big Ten East at 8-1.
Ohio State has the roster to make it to the College Football Playoff as an at-large team but cannot stumble the rest of the way. The Buckeyes missed out on a perfect season last year by allowing a game-winning field goal to Michigan State during the regular season. The Spartans would go on to win the Big Ten and make it to the 2016 College Football Playoff.

Should Ohio State fall in East Lansing, the Buckeyes’ College Football Playoff hopes will come to an end before their big end of season meeting with the Michigan Wolverines.
