The Duke Blue Devils (2-1) square off against the Penn State Nittany Lions (2-1) at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut at 12:30 p.m. ET and will be shown on ESPN3.
Duke enters the matchup trying to rebound from a tough 77-75 loss to the Kansas Jayhawks. While they enter the game ranked at No. 1, they will likely not be ranked there once the new rankings come out due to their loss. Grayson Allen leads the Blue Devils in scoring with 17.7 PPG. Sophomore Luke Kennard averages 4.3 assists per game. Amile Jefferson averages 6.7 rebounds per game and 3.0 blocks a game. The Blue Devils are averaging 88.3 PPG (49th in the country). However, they only have 15.0 APG, tied for 129th in the NCAA.
On the other side of the court, the Nittany Lions have won two straight games after losing to Albany in their first game of the season. They’ve beaten Duquesne 82-74 and GCU 85-76. Freshman Lamar Stevens has been very impressive so far, leading the Nittany Lions with 17.7 PPG. Mike Watkins has 4.3 BPG and 6.3 RPG, both are team highs.

Duke should get the win today. Penn State has struggled this season, barely beating two teams who aren’t very good. They will be out on Saturday to try to get some momentum after losing to the Jayhawks. The Nittany Lions aren’t a very deep team while the Blue Devils are a very deep team. Coach K is one of the best in the business and should lead the Blue Devils to a victory.
