Once again, John Calipari has a stacked roster of young men that could easily be in contention for a national title. However, they need to keep developing early. They’ll have another chance to keep progressing on Sunday at Rupp Arena against the Duquesne Dukes.
Kentucky has been led early on by sophomore Isaiah Briscoe, who has shined as the leader of the Wildcats. However, the freshmen have had their say too. Malik Monk has been a star thus far and, though his minutes have been a bit limited, Bam Adebayo is a force that not many can contain. The Wildcats have the depth and talent to overwhelm most and should do so on Sunday night.
Meanwhile, the Duquesne Dukes have already suffered two losses on the year, but have some talent of their own. Tarin Smith leads the way as he pushes this team in every facet of the game. He’ll need the outing of his life if he’s to upset Kentucky on Sunday, though.
