The Rhode Island Rams face the Duke Blue Devils at the Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday. Here’s all the info you need to watch online.
There was no debate that the Duke Blue Devils were the best team in college basketball entering the 2016-17 season. However, Mike Krzyzewski’s crew already has one loss this week that will surely drop them from No. 1. Now they’re playing in the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame Tip-Off. After beating Penn State on Saturday, they return to Mohegan Sun Arena for a date with the Rhode Island Rams.
Duke’s biggest issue at this point in the season is healthy. Star freshmen Harry Giles and Jayson Tatum have still yet to suit up in 2016. Meanwhile, star junior Grayson Allen and sophomore big man Chase Jeter both suffered injuries in Saturday’s win. The Blue Devils are now up against it in terms of health and depth. That leaves them a bit vulnerable for an upset on Sunday, but Luke Kennard, Frank Jackson, and Amile Jefferson could have something to say.
Rhode Island is far from a slouch either. They topped Cincinnati to advance to play Duke and enter as the No. 21 team in the country. E.C. Matthews sets the tone for this team offensively, but Hassan Martin and Kuran Iverson are huge on the glass in addition to getting buckets as well. If the Blue Devils are still at less than 100 percent (or in fact well below it), the Rams have the talent to knock them off.

It’s clear that Duke is the better team when healthy. However, the Blue Devils look far from that entering Sunday. Could that mean Rhode Island pulls off the upset and hands No. 1 their second loss of the week? That would certainly be a shocking early narrative.
