Just when you suspect Houston might have faded to black in the 2016 regular season, they come back and smack the Louisville Cardinals in a game that was decided very early. The win not only put the cougars back on the nation’s radar but it placed them firmly in a spot to where they could steal an at large bid for the New Year’s Six. They need a lot to go down with other “Group of 5” schools but Tom Herman’s Houston squad is alive and well as we reach the end of the season.

The North Carolina Tar Heels are hoping and wishing for a possible Virginia Tech meltdown this coming week. It’s the only thing that’s blocking their path to the ACC Title Game against Clemson. The Tar Heels can help their own cause by beating an NC State team that’s playing for a bowl bid and possibly their coaches job. If anything, a possible nine-win North Carolina team should get a solid bowl bid. If I were a betting man, look for the Heels to possibly be in the Belk Bowl or Russell Athletic Bowl for the second straight season.
