17. team. 35. Make it 11 straight losses and counting for the Titans against the Colts. Mike Mularkey’s team fell behind 21-0 in the second quarter and fell short, 24-17. It was also the team’s ninth consecutive loss at Indianapolis. The Titans once again squandered an opportunity to move above the .500 mark. It was another solid performance by quarterback Marcus Mariota, who threw multiple touchdown passes for the seventh straight game and eighth time in 10 contests this season. But the second-year quarterback was also sacked five times by an Indianapolis defense that also held Tennessee to just 97 yards on the ground. A total of 11 accepted penalties for 109 yards did not help the Titans’ cause as well.
Next Week: The improved Titans make their first trip to the Windy City since 2008 to face the cellar dwelling 2-8 Chicago Bears. Mularkey’s surprising team owns a 2-1 mark vs. NFC North teams this season, winning at Detroit back in mid-September and crushing the Green Bay Packers at Nashville in Week 10.

Playoff hopes: Tennessee has now tumbled to third place in the AFC South. While they are only one game under the break-even mark, the Titans are now 1-3 within the division and just 3-5 vs. the conference. It’s going to be tough to overcome those obstacles but it’s too early to count this improving team out.
. 5-6. Previous: . Tennessee Titans
