124. So much for that five-game winning streak. Andy Reid’s club struggled all day with the pesky Buccaneers and eventually succumbed to Dirk Koetter’s club, 19-17. While Tampa Bay quarterback Jameis Winston did lose a fumble in the game, he took advantage of a Kansas City defense that was missing ball-hawking cornerback Marcus Peters. The Bucs’ signal-caller threw for 331 yards and a score and helped end the Chiefs’ nine-game winning streak at Arrowhead Stadium. Kansas City’s ground attack managed only 82 yards against Tampa’s defense. And Reid’s team never really put a lot of heat on Winston, who was sacked only once on the afternoon.
Next Week: Kansas City hits the road for the next two weeks and should have their hands full in both instances. The team visits the defending Super Bowl champion Broncos in prime time next Sunday. Although the club won at the Mile High City a year ago, the Chiefs are 7-26 in 33 visits to Denver dating back to 1983.

Playoff hopes: Both the Chiefs and Broncos trail the Silver and Black by a half-a-game in the AFC West, pending the Raiders’ Monday night encounter with the Houston Texans. And we will remind you that Kansas City owns that sparkling 2-0 record within the division. But they still have four games vs. their longtime rivals.
. 7-3. Previous: . Kansas City Chiefs. 6. team
