While Peppers is getting all the Heisman and NFL Draft hype in Ann Arbor, Lewis deserves credit as arguably the best cornerback in the nation and will be the most important factor in shutting down the Buckeyes’ passing game.

Lewis was named an All-American by USA Today in 2015, when he recorded 52 tackles and two interceptions, including one touchdown. After missing three games due to various injuries this season, Lewis is playing at an elite level once again and had perhaps the play of the year with a ridiculous one-handed interception to seal a critical win over Wisconsin.

The senior might be the most athletic defender on the field Saturday outside of Peppers and can be a threat on kick returns. Many opposing teams have simply refused to target Lewis, although he will face a touch challenge on Saturday.

Ohio State doesn’t have a deep threat like Michael Thomas or Devin Smith this season, but its wide receivers should still not be underestimated. In particular, the Buckeyes may try to get sophomore Noah Brown more involved, as he has just three combined catchers over the past three games.

Lewis will need to stop Brown and company from generating any splash plays down the field. In addition, look for Lewis to get a few looks against versatile back Curtis Samuel, who is the best big play threat for the Buckeyes.

Barrett had his worst passing performance of the year against Michigan State, and the Buckeyes offense struggled as a whole. If Lewis can limit Barrett again this week, Michigan will have a great chance to win.
