No. 4: 224 receiving yards, 3 TD vs. Auburn (2014)

Player: Alabama WR Amari Cooper

Final Score: 55 Alabama, 44 Auburn

Head Coaches: Nick Saban, Gus Malzahn

W-L Record in 2014: 12-2 (Alabama), 8-5 (Auburn)

Amari Cooper tied his Week 2 total in receptions (13) during an offensive shootout with Auburn on Nov. 29, 2014. This would be Cooper’s second 200-yard game since Week 4, when he hauled in 10 passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns against Florida.

Depicted as the highest scoring game in the history of the Iron Bowl, 2014 gave the state of Alabama something to salivate at. Collectively, both teams surpassed over 500 yards of offense each and produced 42 first downs between the two.

And Cooper’s final season at Alabama couldn’t go off with more bang.

Earlier in 2014, Cooper had another 224-yard game against Tennessee, but came up one touchdown shy of tying the 2014 Iron Bowl. Over the span of the 2014 season, Cooper recorded five games of 10+ receptions, along with three games (Auburn, Tennessee, Florida), where he tallied over 200 receiving yards. Cooper was also the recipient of a college wide receiver’s best honor, the Biletnikoff Award, was an All-American and earned SEC POY honors.

After college, Cooper would continue to be a dynamic receiver for the Oakland Raiders. In 2015, he led the team in receiving yards with 1,070, along with six touchdowns. At the 10-game mark in his 2016 campaign, Cooper’s on pace to match those numbers. Most recently, his best performance was against Tampa Bay, where he registered 173 yards and a touchdown.
