Kentucky freshmen Malik Monk and De’Aaron Fox combined for one of the best alley-oops we’ll see all college basketball season

Once again here in the 2016-17 college basketball season, the Kentucky Wildcats are expected to contend for the national title. And once again, that’s due in large part to having one of the best freshmen classes in the entire nation, which includes five-stars Malik Monk and De’Aaron Fox.

Wednesday afternoon as the early part of the college basketball season moves along, Monk, Fox and the rest of the Wildcats are at home for a non-conference contest against visiting Cleveland State. In the first half of this one, Monk and Fox displayed not only why they were two of the more highly-touted recruits, but also why you should fear the talents of the Wildcats once again.

After a steal, Monk threw the ball perfectly off the backboard, then Fox came in to hit the throw down, wowing the crowd in attendance at Rupp Arena.

If for some reason or another you ever find yourself wondering how Kentucky is so consistently good, this is the reason why. Year in and year out John Calipari finds these youngsters that are just levels above everyone else who is on the court with them.

Both of these talented freshmen are off to good starts in their collegiate careers. Coming into this game on Wednesday against Cleveland State, Monk is averaging 15.8 points per game, while Fox is right behind him averaging 15.3.

To think that these two are only gonna improve as the season goes along is a scary thought, especially for the competition that’s waiting in SEC play.
