The Washington Redskins came back from a 17-6 halftime lead to make it a game in Dallas, but in the end, the Cowboys won their tenth straight.

It took three quarters for the Washington Redskins offense to find the offense, but in the end, it proved to be too little too late. Heading into the fourth quarter with the Dallas Cowboys up 17-6, the Redskins went on a scoring barrage, but unfortunately for them, the Cowboys also were scoring in bunches. The final score read 31-26 Cowboys in a Thanksgiving Day game that will be remembered for a while.

With the win, the Cowboys ran their winning streak to 10 games, as their prized rookies continue to get it done. Quarterback Dak Prescott threw for a score, and ran for one, as he beat the Redskins for the second time this season. Running back Ezekiel Elliot found the end zone twice, as he continues to prove he may be the best back in all of football.

Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins threw for nearly 450 yards in the loss, while connecting on three touchdown passes. Tight end Jordan Reed caught two of Cousins’ TD tosses, while DeSean Jackson had the other. Jackson was a star once again in the national spotlight, catching four passes for over 100 yards, including the 67-yarder for the TD. Reed caught 10 passes in the game.

Dallas got the scoring going early, as Ezekiel Elliot scored from four yards out to cap the Cowboys first possession. The second quarter featured three field goals wrapped around a 10-yard TD strike from Prescott to Terrance Williams. That would be all she wrote until the fourth quarter, where the two teams combined for 34 points.

After Cousins hit Reed for the second time to bring the team to within a score, the ensuing onside kick went out of bounds, essentially ending the game for the Redskins. With the win, the Cowboys ran  their record to 10-1 on the season, and in the process, knock Washington’s hopes of back-to-back NFC East titles out of the window. Washington has played very well as of late, and could still sneak into the playoffs as a Wildcard team.

1.Ezekiel Elliot

The star rookie running back from Ohio State was at it again on Thursday night, rushing for nearly 100 yards and two scores. Elliott opened up the scoring with a four-yard touchdown on the game’s first drive, a drive that saw him carry the load for most of it. He would find paydirt once again in the fourth quarter, scoring the Cowboys last touchdown of the afternoon.

Elliott has done an incredible job behind the Cowboys offensive line, which is arguably the best in the league. On Thursday, he ran over, and around the Redskins, proving to be the X-Factor in the game. If he continues to tote the ball the way he did against Washington, there could be a Super Bowl berth for this team.

2.Kirk Cousins

Time and time again, Kirk Cousins led his team back, though it ended up being just a bit too little  too late. Cousins threw for nearly 450 yards in the game, and did a phenomenal job mixing the ball around. Nine different Redskins caught passes on Thursday night, headlined by Jordan Reed, who had 10

Cousins has proven to be a solid quarterback in this league the last two years, and should be in line for a huge contract at the end of the season. While it took a while for the Redskins to get it going on Thursday, they showed an explosive offense in the final frame. He connected on 41 of 53 passing in the game, good enough for a 77% percent clip.

3.Dak Prescott

The rookie signal-caller did not throw, or run for a ton of yards on Thursday, but his poise is what led the team to the victory. Prescott is playing well beyond his years in 2016, and has now won ten straight starts. He was able to find the end zone on both the ground, and through the air against the Skins, as the Cowboys cemented their place atop the division.

Prescott played so well this season that incumbent starter Tony Romo has been delegated to backup duty for the rest of the way. On Thursday, Prescott showed he can get it done from the pocket, and on the run, and is such a dangerous threat at the position. The Cowboys should be in for a long run this season, and Prescott appears poised for super-stardom.

Odds

The Dallas Cowboys are favored by seven points at home this week, as the odds makers figure they will run their winning streak to double-digits. Neither team plays consistent offense, so the line of 51 actually seems a bit low for this one.

Next Week

The Cowboys will play another Thursday game next week, as they travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings. Washington will stay on the road, as they will take on the Arizona Cardinals in the desert in Week 13.
