High Value PF

Gorgui Dieng-Minnesota Timberwolves (5,900): The Timberwolves have been a disappointment so far this season, but Dieng has established himself as a solid play at PF next to Karl-Anthony Towns. Dieng played just 24 minutes on Wednesday in the Wolves’ blowout loss but still managed 28.1 fantasy points on 13-8-5. He has at least eight rebounds in six straight and over 25 fantasy points in each of his last five. His block numbers have been a little down lately, but he is a nightly double-double threat and definitely worth a look at under 6K.

Thaddeus Young-Inidana Pacers (5,600): Young comes into his first matchup against his former team from Brooklyn playing his best basketball of the season. He had a season-high 24 points against the Hawks on Wednesday and added seven rebounds to get to 33.4 fantasy points. He has over 33 fantasy points in two of his last three games, now, and has been over 24 fantasy points in six of his last seven. The Nets are allowing the second-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PF and Young should be motivated to take it to his former teammates as the Nets come to Indiana tonight.

Terrence Jones-New Orleans Pelicans (5,100): While his playing time situation still makes me nervous, Jones has been very productive for coach Alvin Gentry curing he Pelicans recent run of success. Jones has at least 29 fantasy points in five of his last six games including a 17-7-1 performance on Wednesday against the T-Wolves. He’s in a great matchup against the Blazers if he gets on the floor tonight, and I think he’s a high-risk, high-upside play at just over 5K.

Frank Kaminsky-Charlotte Hornets (4,500): Kaminsky has been playing well lately despite an ankle issue and is getting extra chances with Cody Zeller out and Roy Hibbert on a minutes limit. Kaminsky played 30 minutes on Wednesday against the Spurs and finished with 27.1 fantasy points. He has at least 26 fantasy points in four of his last five and has scored 13 points or more in each of those contests. Tongiht, he’ll take on Porzingis and the Knicks and is definitely worth a look as my favorite sub-5K PF play tonight.

Ersan Ilyasova-Philadelphai76ers (4,200): Another member of the 76ers who makes sense as a cheap play tonight is Ersan Ilyasova who has been a solid addition since the Sixers acquired him from OKC earlier this season. Ilyasova has scored in double digits in six straight games and had a season-high 22 points in 40 minutes on Wednesday. The two extra periods definitely boosted him a bit as he finished with 22-12 for 35.4 fantasy points. Even though those numbers are likely out of reach tonight against the Bulls, he does have some nice upside at just over 4K.

Marreese Speights-Los Angeles Clippers (3,500): With the possibility of a blowout in Detroit a real possibility, you could take a flier on Marreese Speights who has produced well when given extra time in runaway wins for the Clippers. Mo Buckets matched a season-high 16 points and added 12 rebounds in 22 minutes on Wednesday against the Mavericks totaling 37.4 fantasy points. Speights set that season-high just last Saturday against the Bulls while posting 23.3 fantasy points. He has at least that many in three of his last six games and in five of his last 11.
