Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh was given a huge penalty after losing his cool after an offsides call against his team.
The game between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines was an emotional one on Saturday. In the third quarter, it looked like the Wolverines were finally going to get some separation from the Buckeyes. However, a series of penalties and an interception allowed the Buckeyes to get right back into it. That caused Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh to lose his cool like never before.
Feeling like his team was getting the shaft with penalty after penalty, Harbaugh melted down after an offsides penalty. He was then given an unsportsmanlike conduct and that allowed the Buckeyes to have the football right near the goal line.
The Buckeyes would win up scoring and would cut the deficit to three points. It’s hard to blame Harbaugh for losing his cool however. A penalty on his center nullified a big first down, then his quarterback threw an interception and his defensive lineman lined up on the wrong side of the ball.
The refs apparently decided that they had enough of hearing Harbaugh yell at them and they assessed him one too. Everyone knows that he isn’t afraid to get on officials and he had been all over them all day. He certainly had a case on some of the calls but this more or less felt like frustration with everything here.
