Marcus Mariota is becoming a star for the Tennessee Titans. Watch him find Rishard Matthews at the back of the Chicago Bears end zone on this touchdown.
The Tennessee Titans are contending in the AFC South in 2016 thanks in large part to the outstanding play of their second-year starting quarterback Marcus Mariota.
Here is Mariota showing off all the reasons that the Titans used the No. 2 overall pick on the 2015 NFL Draft. Mariota is able to find wide receiver Rishard Matthews at the back of the Chicago Bears end zone for a late second quarter score.
Mariota had pass rushers in his face and was still able to heave the football to where only Matthews could grab it for six in the back of the Bears end zone. A win on the road in Chicago would bring the upstart Titans back to .500 at 6-6 before their Week 13 bye.
Tennessee needs to see both the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts to stumble to win the AFC South. However, Mariota is playing out of his mind in his second season out of the University of Oregon in 2016.
He is not a system quarterback many thought he might be playing in the up-tempo, no-huddle in college. Mariota is a fast learner and has looked great in Mike Mularkey and Terry Robiskie’s offense with the 2016 Titans.

Yes, Chicago is playing for only pride at this point, but to be able to make a big time throw like this has to have Titans fans excited for the years to come. Mariota is only going to get better in this offense. Once he gets the vertical weapons he needs, Mariota will be able to burn more NFL defenses with his howitzer of a right arm. Mariota looks great for the Titans in 2016.
