Watford welcome Stoke to Vicarage Road on Sunday, November 27. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Watford host Stoke City in a clash between two of the more steady clubs in the Premier League. Last week Watford had an impressive victory vs Leicester while Stoke had a disappointing home loss to Bournemouth. The Hornets are in eighth place but they are only a point back from Manchester United who sits in sixth place. The gap between the top five teams and the rest is becoming more significant as the season progresses. However, Watford could pass the 20 point mark with a victory over Mark Hughes’ Stoke side this weekend.
It all depends on what Stoke City team turns up as to what the result will be. The Potters have had impressive performances away to Hull and Manchester United but last week they suffered and unexpected defeat to Bournemouth. They should have had a better result in that game and if it were not for Bojan missing a penalty then they might have. Mark Hughes needs to look forwards though and not backward. Stoke have some extremely capable players going forward like Xherdan Shaqiri and Marko Arnautovic.
This means that on their day Stoke can be a very dangerous side and Watford manager Walter Mazzarri will know this. On paper, this looks like it could be a draw which is a result that would please Watford more than it would Stoke. Troy Deeney is still looking for his 100th goal for Watford. He scored in both matches against Stoke last season so that could be a good omen for the Hornets hit man.
