124. Kudos to veteran quarterback Alex Smith and the resilient Chiefs. Trailing 24-16 in the fourth quarter, the team used a 13-play, 75-yard touchdown march and 2:48 of the clock to put themselves in position to tie the game. Smith hit speedy Tyreek Hill in the end score for six points and tight end. Demetrius Harris for the two-point conversion. Andy Reid’s team allowed 464 total yards on the evening and Denver quarterback Trevor Siemian threw for 368 yards and three touchdowns. But led by outside linebacker Justin Houston, Bob Sutton’s defensive unit dropped the Broncos signal-caller five times – three of those by Houston.
Next Week: There could be plenty of fireworks in Atlanta next Sunday as the tough Kansas City defense will have its hands full with red-hot Matt Ryan and the high-scoring Falcons/ attack. Of course, keep in mind that this is also a Chiefs’ squad that boasts a 4-2 record away from home this season.

Playoff hopes: Reid’s team now owns a 3-0 record vs. its AFC West rivals and has road victories over the Raiders and Broncos. This is a confident club that has now won six of its last seven contests after a pedestrian 2-2 start. The Chiefs also own a strong 6-2 conference record. They would have to collapse badly not to reach the playoffs.
. 8-3. Previous: . Kansas City Chiefs. 4. team
