The LSU Tigers named interim head coach Ed Orgeron their permanent head coach this past week, ending speculation as to whether or not he would be back next season. Coach O has done a nice job with the team since the program fired Les Miles, winning five of his seven games at the helm. This past weekend, the coach got a glimpse of what games just may look like next season in the Bayou.

Sophomore running back Derrius Guice got the start over the injured Leonard Fournette against the Texas A&M Aggies in their final regular season game. All the kid did was rush for a school-record 285 yards, breaking Fournette’s record set six weeks ago against Ole Miss. Guice found the end zone four times in his 37 carries, while putting himself on the map as a possible Heisman candidate next season.

This is not the first time Guice has gone off, as he rushed for 252 yards just two weeks ago. Despite being the team’s No. 2 running back, Guice actually has led the Tigers in rushing, racking up 1,249 yards. That total is also good for second in the SEC this season, and most of those yards have come in the last three games. Guice has rushed for 620 yards and seven touchdowns in the Tigers last three contests, and could be the kind of back that brings them back to the top of the SEC next season.
