High Salary C

Nikola Vucevic-Orlando Magic (7,000): Against he more talented offensive centers this season, the Spurs have definitely missed Tim Duncan which could lead to another big game for Vucevic who has posted five double-doubles in his last six games and over 40 fantasy points in three straight. That run started with a 21-13-2 game against Phoenix last Wednesday, continued with a 17-17-2 game against Washington, and extend with a 17-16-3 game against Milwaukee on Sunday. Vucevic’s big games have all come at home, though, so he is a little risky as he takes his show on the road tonight to San Antonio to face the Spurs who are allowing the second-fewest fantasy points per game overall to opposing centers. They have given up big games to Hassan Whiteside and others, but overall their defense remains one of the best in the NBA.

Rudy Gobert-Utah Jazz (6,800): He has been quietly turning in good games much like Vucevic in Orlando, and the Stifle Tower comes home looking for his fourth straight double double as he takes on the Rockets tonight. Gobert has a monster 16-17-1 with three blocks last night in Minnesota for 41.9 fantasy points. He has multiple blocks in 11 of his last twelve games and at least 36 fantasy points in four of his last six indulging a 40.3-fantasy-point game against the Rockets when he posted 12-14-1 and four blocks. Gobert and the Jazz are playing the second night of a back-to-back, but at home I think he’s a really nice play at under 7K.  ∗∗∗

Clint Capela-Houston Rockets (6,000): On the other side of the late game, Capela will look to continue his breakout run for Houston. He has at least 32 fantasy points in six of his last eight games including a solid 20-8-5 for 39.1 fantasy points last time he faced Gobert. He’ll have to deal with Gobert’s good defense again tonight in what should be a great battle of young big men with lots of upside. Since the game is in Utah, I’d give a slight edge to Gobert, but Capela remains one of my favorite regular mid-range plays at center for DFS.
