2017 NFL Mock Draft: Dalvin Cook makes his case
By Brad Weiss
Marcus Mariota is blossoming into one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL, and he has put to bed all of the critics who said his game would not equate at the pro level. He seems to get better every week, and it is clear that the Tennessee Titans are definitely on the upswing as an organization. The one area the team is lacking on the offensive side of the ball is at wide receiver, where they have a cast of WR2s pretending to be lead guys.
It has worked out on plenty of occasions this season, however, as guys like Rishard Matthews, Kendall Wright, and Tajae Sharpe have looked very good at times. Still, Mariota needs that top option if he is going to continue to grow, and the team should look to the Northwest for a star playing for the Washington Huskies.
That player is John Ross, who has emerged as the best wide receiver in the Pac-12 this season. That is pretty high praise considering a man named JuJu Smith-Schuster just happens to play in that conference. Ross can do it all, and has made every team’s No. 1 cornerback look silly this season. Mariota’s stock continues to rise, and Ross could become a star in Tennessee as well.
