Here are some of the top college football games to keep an eye out for in Week 14.
It is championship week around college football, and that sets us up for a huge week of action. Let’s take a look at some of the impact games in primetime this week. As always, all times will be listed in Eastern format. A full list of this week’s games are available at the ESPN website.
We kick things off on Friday, December 2 with the Pac-12 Championship. The sixth battle for the Pac-12 title will feature the #8 Colorado Buffaloes and #4 Washington Huskies. It’s an uphill battle for the Huskies, whose relatively easy schedule could come back to haunt them in the College Football Playoff rankings. But they still have to get past Colorado first.
The Buffaloes have picked up big wins over the last couple of weeks, knocking off Washington State and Utah to finish the season at 8-1 and clinch the Pac-12 South. They have won six straight meetings over Colorado, with the most recent being a 38-23 victory in 2014 in Boulder. FOX will have the broadcast beginning at 9:00 p.m.
From there, we move to a couple of big Saturday games. The first is for the ACC Championship, as #3 Clemson faces #23 Virginia Tech. Both teams have had key wins and tough losses this year. A win for Clemson is almost certain to punch their ticket for the four-team playoff. Virginia Tech is a rebuilding team dealing with a coaching change. The Hokies would love nothing more than to spoil the Tigers’ shot at the playoff with a huge win on Saturday. ABC will carry the game beginning at 8:00 p.m.
And that brings us to the Big 10 Championship game. We will see #6 Wisconsin taking on #7 Penn State. The third and fourth best teams in the conference will square off to see who will claim the Big 10 title this year. Both squads enter with big winning streaks on the line, but Wisconsin has more big game experience lately. This is their fourth Big 10 title game in the last six years. Will the experience pay off, or will the Nittany Lions pull off the upset and slide past the Badgers? We’ll find out on FOX this Saturday night, with coverage set for 8:00 p.m.
