High Salary PG
Giannis Antetokounmpo-Milwaukee Bucks (9,900): “The Alphabet” has been huge lately with over 54 fantasy points in three of his last four and his best fantasy game of the year on Tuesday against LeBron and the Cavs. In that contest he had 34-12-5 (points-rebounds-assists) with five steals for 69.5 fantasy points. Tonight, he’ll be in a much softer matchup against the Nets who are allowing the most fantasy points per game to opposing PG. He should be able to pile up fantasy points against Brooklyn tonight making him even a little better play than Harden on a points-per-dollar basis. ∗∗∗∗
Chris Paul-Los Angeles Clippers (9,100): Paul could very likely sit out tomorrow’s matchup if he plays tonight as the Clippers play three games in four nights. In the first game of that stretch, Blake Griffin rested as the Clippers lost to the Nets. With no Griffin, CP3 carried the offense with a triple-double of 26-10-13 and a solid 68.5 fantasy points. Before that game, though, he had been held under 40 fantasy points in four of his previous five. With Griffin expected to play, Paul should be good but still comes with risk at over 9K. Quite honestly, I think there are better big-salary investments at other positions if you can’t get Giannis.∗∗
Kyrie Irving-Cleveland Cavaliers (7,400): On the other slide of that East vs West matchup, the Cavs will look to recover from their own loss after losing to the Bucks on Tuesday. All the Cavs struggled in that one and Kyrie only had 28.5 fantasy points on 21-2-3. Irving can definitely deliver big games as he showed against the 76ers earlier this week (49 fantasy points) and against the Pistons the week before last (49 fantasy points). However, he’s a volatile option that seems a little over-priced especially in a game where he’ll have to deal with the tough defense of CP3.∗∗∗
Goran Dragic-Miami Heat (6,300): The Heat and the Jazz are the two best teams in the NBA at limiting the fantasy points of opposing PG and they go head-to-head tonight in Salt Lake City. The reason Dragic is on this list over George Hill is that Dragic is carrying almost all of the Heat’s offense right now with so many injuries. He himself just came back from a sprained elbow and has posted 58 fantasy points and 32.25 fantasy points in his two games back. In his last five full games he has posted over 31 fantasy points, and he showed against Boston that he can carry the offense. He played 38 minutes in that game on Monday finishing with 27-2-17 and a whopping 58 fantasy points. He’s risky due to the matchup, but I like his potential even on the second night of a back-to-back.∗∗
