The same sort of circumstances that apply to Hurts and Watson apply to Washington Huskies sophomore quarterback Jake Browning. Washington will be playing in a conference championship game. A win will get the Huskies into the 2017 College Football Playoff.
Browning has been outstanding in Seattle this season for an on-the-rise program in Washington. He has completed 65.0 percent of his passes for 3,162 yards, 40 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Browning has a yards per attempt of 9.6 and an adjusted yards per attempt of 11.1. His quarterback rating of 181.6 is simply outstanding.
A bad performance against the USC Trojans a few weeks ago briefly derailed Browning’s Heisman candidacy, but a great game against the Washington State Cougars in the Apple Cup should have him as one of the five players making it to New York this December.
