LeBron James lost a World Series bet to Dwyane Wade and was forced to wear a Cubs jersey ā Twitter reacted accordingly.
Donāt ever make a bet that youāll regret later. LeBron James learned this lesson the hard way as he made a friendly wager with Chicago-native Dwyane Wade about the winner of the 2016 MLB Wold Series.
The bet was that the loser had to wear the winning teamās jersey. LeBron, being an Akron-native, was obviously rooting for the Cleveland Indians and Wade was on the side of the Cubs.Ā With the series deadlocked at 3-1 with the Indians leading, it looked like Wade was going to have to purchase new Indiansā gear. However, the Cubs made an epic comeback, Cavaliers-style, and ended up winning three straight to clinch the series, 4-3. It was their first World Series win since 1908.
To honor the bet, James donned a No. 23 Cubs jerseyĀ and full uniform before Friday nightās Cavaliers vs. Bulls game. Obviously, he honored the bet on Friday because that way Wade could see him in person and poke fun at the situation.
Hereās how Twitter reacted to James donning a custom-made Cubs jersey:

There are multiple angles that fans took in light of this harmless bet. Cubs/Bulls fans thought it was hilarious that The King had to pay up in embarrassing fashion. Cavaliers/Indians fans were slightly disgusted at the sight and it brought up bad memories. Lastly, sports fans got a good laugh but praised LeBron for being a good sport.

Itās cool to see a guy like LeBron doing something like this even though you know it has to be killing him inside. He and Wade are best of friends and this is something theyāll have fun with for a while.
Maybe the two can have this same bet again next year if the Cubs and Indians make it back to the World Series.
