Dede Westbrook burst into our lives this college football season for the Oklahoma Sooners, racking up over 1,300 yards receiving and 15 touchdowns. He is one of the more explosive players in the game today, which is why many expect him to be headed to the Heisman ceremony next weekend.
On Saturday, he is playing in one of the biggest games of his career, as he and the Sooners try to win another Big 12 title by defeating the rival Oklahoma State Cowboys. In the second quarter of this one, Westbrook made his presence felt.
Oklahoma was down 3-0 early in the second quarter, and that’s when Baker Mayfield dropped back and found Westbrook down the field. From there, the speedster shook off a defender and it was all over from there.
That young man is just amazing, and it’s really no wonder there are some who believe that he will be taking that trip to New York we mentioned earlier. He’s the poster child for explosiveness, and as expected, he’s going to be a problem for the Cowboys on Saturday in Norman.

Oklahoma and Westbrook don’t really have a chance at the College Football Playoff, but they do have a chance on Saturday to win another conference title and head off to a New Year’s Six game, which is nothing to be disappointed about by any means.
