Trace McSorley gave Penn State fans a reason to tune in to the second half when he connected with Saeed Blacknall on a 40-yard touchdown.

Penn State has always been a second half team, but they could’ve at least hung tight with Wisconsin in the first half. The Badgers used their lethal combination of good offense and elite defense to race out to a 28-7 lead, and against a team like that, it’s pretty much insurmountable.

But Trace McSorley has played solid so far, and he gave Penn State fans a reason to keep believing:

"Penn State gets a big score before the half! #WeAre #B1GFCG https://t.co/c1fBrHGLMd— FOX College Football (@CFBONFOX) December 4, 2016"

Wisconsin’s defense may be great, but we’ll see if they can actually survive second half Penn State. Following their close losses to Michigan and Ohio State, we know that they can compete against any team in the country. But if they can withstand the inevitable Penn State barrage, it will make them look that much better in the eyes of the Playoff Committee.

We know that no lead is safe when it comes to Penn State. When the Buckeyes were up 21-7 heading into the fourth quarter, it should’ve been over. Instead, they used their great defense and special teams to propel them to a memorable comeback.

Saquon Barkley has 56 yards on seven carries, and it’s only a matter of time before he gets into the end zone. And if McSorley can keep making plays like this, they’ve got a shot. It’s not his fault that they’re trailing, as both of his touchdowns have been beautiful.

If the Big ten has proven anything, it’s that there’s no shortage of entertainment. If Penn State can manage to mount a comeback in the second half, this could become one of the best Big Ten title games in recent memory. But doing that against this defensive unit is easier said than done.
