This isn’t much of a surprise, but we’re glad it’s official. Closing the press conference at the PlayStation Experience, The Last of Us 2 was confirmed.

Once again, Naughty Dog continues to deliver. At the PlayStation Experience, not only did they reveal a new Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End DLC story. But, they also revealed a highly anticipated sequel, The Last of Us Part II.

The Last of Us released back in 2013 and it was one of, if not, the best games of the year. Come to think of it, it may even be one of the best games of all-time. The characters, the world you explore, and the story are some of the best in video game history.

Throughout the first game, you play as Joel. After the death of his daughter, he’s trying to find his place in the post-apocalyptic world. Along comes Ellie, a new girl who must be delivered to a specific place.

As their relationship grows, it becomes more of a father-daughter affair and Joel will do anything to keep her safe. The story this game tells is one of the best stories you’ll ever play through.

The first game did end in a cliffhanger, though. So, many fans were not content with this. A sequel has been rumored and hinted at for quite some time, but nothing became official. Well, now we have a trailer and it’s awesome.

Check out the new trailer below:

In the trailer, the first thing we see are gorgeous visuals. It looks like a run down and abandoned forest. Something that you would see during the end of civilization. So, we already had an idea of what this game was.

Then, we see someone playing guitar. Sure enough, it’s Ellie. She starts singing a song as she’s playing a tune and we see a man walk through the door. We don’t get a clear look at his face, but we know it’s Joel.

In a brief conversation, Ellie ends it by saying, “I’m going to kill them all.” We aren’t sure who she’s referring to, but things are about to get serious.

The game is still very early in development, so we aren’t sure when it will be released.
