While the New England Patriots will be without Rob Gronkowski the rest of the way, they still have LeGarrette Blount. Here is Blount destroying the Rams.

The New England Patriots are 9-2 on the year, but look a bit vulnerable as an AFC power entering December. They will be without tight end Rob Gronkowski the rest of the season and the Patriots defense isn’t anything special this year. Fortunately for New England, the Patriots still have Tom Brady and LeGarrette Blount.

Brady is playing at MVP level in 2016, but who would have thought that Blount would be a Pro Bowl level player this year. Here he is looking like Marshawn Lynch on this powerful 43-yard touchdown run against the hapless Los Angeles Rams on Sunday afternoon.

Blount is one of the most physical runners in the NFL today. He earns every yard he gets on the ground with his imposing running style. Even though the Patriots have their issues in the passing game and on defense, having Blount in the backfield makes them AFC Championship caliber.

As the weather turns in Foxborough, having a reliable running back that Brady can lean on in Blount is huge for the Patriots’ Super Bowl LI chances. Championship teams are successful because they can run the football and stop teams defensively late in games.

New England has a way to go on the defensive side of the ball, but Blount gives the Patriots the necessary balance they will need to go deep in the 2016 AFC Playoffs this year. It’s hard to beat New England in Foxborough. It’s almost impossible when they can pound the rock with a Pro Bowl caliber back like Blount.
