Jabrill Peppers will be going to New York this weekend for the Heisman ceremony, and people are a little confused by this.
Monday night the 2016 Heisman Trophy finalists were announced on ESPN, and as is usually the case, there was a little bit of controversy. That controversy came about because of the selection of Michigan’s all-everything man, Jabrill Peppers.
Yes, as the five finalists were rattled off by Desmond Howard Monday night, Peppers’ name was brought up, leaving many a little confused. While Peppers is an outstanding football player who does work in all three phases of the game, he doesn’t really have the stats to back up a trip to New York for the Heisman presentation on Saturday. Heck, for as much hype as he does get, some don’t even realize that he only has one interception — in his career.
So of course, after the announcement of Peppers was made, people took to their keyboards to express their frustration online.
Jabrill Peppers probably has the biggest bust potential at the next level

I'm pretty sure Bama has 10 guys that could do what Jabrill Peppers does... We just prefer to split the workload and win all our games.

Why is Jabrill Peppers a Heisman finalist? Let it end.

Jabrill Peppers had a great season but an invite to New York is definitely pushing it

If @JabrillPeppers wins the Heisman Trophy it's a disgrace to everyone who has won it. Statistically has no business in the conversation.

How is Jabrill Peppers a Heisman finalist over Johnathan Allen? Peppers isn’t even the best defensive player on his team.

Jabrill Peppers is such a weak Heisman candidate smh

How did jabrill peppers make it? He's an animal but heisman...?

I am legitimately interested in hearing arguments for Jabrill Peppers over Adoree Jackson. Adoree was a better KR/PR, and damn good on D.

Well, whether people like it or not, the New Jersey native will be heading closer to home on Saturday when he hits New York City for the Heisman Trophy ceremony.
Do you agree or disagree with some of these folks? Should Peppers be making the trip after his 2016 season for Michigan?
