Previous: . Kansas City Chiefs. 4. team. 124. The opportunistic Chiefs continue to frustrate their opponents by making timely plays in all manners. In Sunday’s narrow escape at Atlanta, safety Eric Berry ran back an interception 37 yards for a touchdown and wide receiver Albert Wilson scored on a 55-yard run off a fake punt. Then with the Falcons’ leading 28-27 and going for a two-point conversion, Berry picked off the attempt in the end zone and ran it back for the game-deciding two points. Once again, Kansas City defenders gave up their share of yards (418). But Andy Reid’s playmakers continue to get it done. This is a team that is now 19-3 in its last 22 regular-season outings.
Next Week: It’s a short week but a crucial one for the Chiefs as they host the AFC West leading Oakland Raiders on a Thursday night at Arrowhead Stadium. It was back in Week 6 in the Bay Area that Kansas City throttled the Silver and Black, 26-10. All told, the Chiefs have prevailed in their last four meetings with their longtime divisional rival.

Playoff hopes: All signs point to this resourceful club making its second consecutive postseason trip and third playoff appearance in four seasons under Reid. And if the Chiefs can knock off the first-place Raiders on Thursday night, they will put themselves in the driver’s seat when it comes to the AFC West title.
. 9-3
